We offer short-term health, through National General (ALLSTATE) that works on Aetna’s Network & UnitedHealthcare branded Short Term Medical plans.

Flexible, affordable coverage

Short term health insurance provides individuals with coverage for a limited period, typically ranging from one month to just under 12 months in some states. These plans offer flexibility in terms of deductible, coinsurance, and coinsurance out-of-pocket maximums.
Deductible: The deductible is the amount you are required to pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan begins to cover expenses. By choosing a higher deductible, you can lower your monthly premium cost.

Coinsurance: Once you have met your deductible, you will then pay a percentage of covered expenses known as coinsurance. For example, if your plan has 30% coinsurance and you have already paid the deductible amount, on a $100 medical bill the plan would cover $70 while you would be responsible for paying $30.

Flexible Coverage for Any Situation

However convenient short-term health insurance may be due to its flexibility and affordability compared to long-term plans; there are certain limitations applicants should consider:

1. Limited Duration: Short term health insurance only provides coverage for a restricted time frame which ranges from one month up until just under 12 months in specific states.
2. Renewal Eligibility: Some states allow policyholders who reach their short-term plan expiry date eligibility for reapplication but always verify local regulations.
3. Not Minimum Essential Coverage: It’s important to note that short-term medical isn’t considered minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) meaning it doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions or pregnancies being planned at application time.
